THE REGULATORY STATUTE OF THE EMERGENCY HAND CARE and MICROSURGERY SOCIETY
Name and Center of The Society
Article 1-
The Aim of The Society; The Activity Issues and Patterns Followed By The Society In Order To Reach The Aims; Area of Activity of The Society
Article 2– The society is founded in order to activate, and improve the Hand Surgery and Microsurgery activities in our country, and to augment the support, scientific and social cooperation among the individuals and foundations of various disciplines that work in this field.
The Activity Issues and Patterns Followed By The Society
1) Enhancing precautions in order to decrease the frequency of diseases, accidents, and injuries which cause conditions that require Emergency Hand Care and Microsurgery practices; Working in the field of Treatment and Rehabilitation; arranging cooperation with relevant foundations, and organisations; Improving general approach principles for the emergency patients who require Emergency Hand Care and Microsurgery practices to reach the service of the highest standards,
2) Collecting national data about the topics of improvement and practice of Hand
Surgery and Microsurgery; determining the standards of the emergency and non-
3) Determining the standards of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery training, and coordinating the cooperation between foundations in order for them to reach these standards.
4) Founding microsurgical training and research laboratories, raising the eduational and working conditions of the young surgeons towards international standards; supporting the activities of Hand Trauma Centers (HTC) and other committees that work under the European Hand Surgery Society (FESSH),
5) Developping scientific research groups, professional sufficiency committee, and other committees in accordance with the needs of our country, and supporting their studies,
6) Communicating with clinics, societies, and relevant foundations of various specialty topics that are accredited or that will be accredited by the Ministry of Health and Medical Specialty Committee according to the statute, sharing scientific research with them; answering the demands, and developping common projects when required,
7) Representing Emergency Hand Surgery and Microsurgery during the interactions with relevant ministries, other public organisations, and national and international societies;
8) Aiding the surgeries of composite tissue transplantation which are applied in order to restore the form and function, and increase the life quality of the patients who have faced composite tissue loss that compromises the unity, and function of the body; this will be done on occasions when the Ministry decides that the operation is required or The Scientific Composite Tissue Transplantation Supervisory Commission and The Composite Tissue Transplantation Council demand for the operation;
9) Supporting the activities of the centers that perform or that will perform extremity transplantation, face and scalp transplantation, upper respiratory and digestive tract transplantation, and intestinal transplantation,
10)Revealing the history of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery in the content of Turkish Medical History, and collecting all sorts of data, documents, and publications about the surgeons who served or who are serving in this area; if needed, acting as a reference organ about the forementioned issues,
11)Contributing in the Turkish Medical Terminology in the area of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery,
12)Organizing the National Emergency Hand Care and Microsurgery Congress at least once in two years; organizing national and international scientific meetings, courses, and symposiums in order to maintain the continuity, and currency of the information transfer in the area of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery,
13)Protecting the unity of the profession, and the rights of the colleagues, warning the correspondents against the deeds that hurt the professional honor, that are humiliating, and lacking liability, taking preventions that are required,
14)Opening representative branches in order to sustain the activities of the Society at appropriate settings; purchasing, selling, and renting movable and fixed property that are required for the activities of the Society, and maintaining real claim over the fixed properties.
Area of Activity of The Society
The Society acts both nationally and internationally in the areas of science, education, and health. The Society is not active in politics.
Article 3-
I.Actual Member: The individual has to have the capacity to act, and he/she has to
adopt the goals and principles of the Society, and accept to work in their direction.

Honorary Member: The Medical Doctors who protect, and show close interest towards the Society both in Turkey and abroad, and who have contributions in the field of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery with publications, research, and various works can be accepted as Honorary Members with the decision of the Executive Committee. The honorary members do not pay annual fees; they can not vote at the general meeting of shareholders of the Society, and they can not take roles at the Executive Committees. However, they can participate in the the general meetings of shareholders of the Society; they can take part in the discussion sessions; they can make suggestions, and they can take roles in workshops, and committees. If the actual members who are older than 68 years of age wish, they can apply for Honorary membership. These honorary members do not pay annual fees, and they can participate in the national congresses without paying any registration fees.
III. Voluntary Member: The individuals who are not medical specialists, but who show close interest towards the Society both in Turkey, and abroad, who give significant financial, and moral support to the Society, and who are not the citizens of the Republic of Turkey can be accepted as Voluntary members with the decision of the Executive Committee. The voluntary members do not have the rights to vote, and to be elected for the organs of the Society.
